Maresca can solve Andrey Santo blow by unleashing "elite" Chelsea star

There is no getting away from the fact that the last couple of weeks have not been good for Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca’s side drew away to Brentford, lost away to Bayern Munich and Manchester United and then, after just about beating Lincoln City in the League Cup, lost again against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

Now, there have certainly been mitigating circumstances in all of those games, but even so, the West Londoners need to arrest this dip in form quickly.

Unfortunately, their job has not been made any easier by the number of injuries they are currently contending with, including Andrey Santos, who is yet another player in danger of missing the Champions League game against Benfica.

So, to ensure his side can get one over Chelsea’s former manager, José Mourinho, Maresca needs to replace the Brazilian in the starting line-up, and luckily, he has just the player.

Chelsea's injury problems

Following Maresca’s pre-game press conference, we know there are now six players who are guaranteed to miss the game against Benfica.

The most significant of those is undoubtedly Cole Palmer, who continues to be rested with hopes that his groin injury can be resolved without surgical intervention.

Not as worrying, but still an issue is the absence of Wesley Fofana, who has to sit out more games due to his concussion, and Tosin Adarabioyo, who has a calf problem and will likely be out until after the international break.

These two being unable to play means that the out-of-form Trevoh Chalobah will have to start alongside the unreliable Benoît Badiashile.

As if that wasn’t already enough to deal with, the manager told the press that Moises Caicedo, Joao Pedro and Santos are now all players “with some small problems.”

The Argentine did say that the trio would be assessed and that there is still a chance they’ll be available, but at this point, it feels safe to assume they won’t be starting the game.

So then, with that in mind, Maresca has to go ahead and unleash one of Chelsea’s most exciting talents in place of Santos, a talent who could help the club get one over their former boss, Mourinho.

The Chelsea star who should star in place of Santos

Now, while Enzo Fernández will likely start in central midfield and the exciting Facundo Buonanotte can play in the ten, Maresca still needs another slightly more defensive-minded midfielder to come in.

Chalkboard

Football FanCast’s Chalkboard series presents a tactical discussion from around the global game.

In this instance, that player should be the recently returned Roméo Lavia.

The once-capped Belgian has had to deal with his own horrendous injury issues since joining the Blues in the summer of 2023, but he looked unreal in his season with Southampton, and when he’s had a chance, he’s looked good for the West Londoners.

Chelsea's NoniMaduekearrives at the stadium

The 21-year-old is more than solid when it comes to the defensive side of the game, and could be the perfect answer in the six for this game, but he’s also no slouch when it comes to the offensive side of things.

For example, FBref ranked him in the top 3% of Premier League midfielders for interceptions last season, the top 4% for pass completion and percentage of aerial duels won, and the top 12% for passes into the final third, among other metrics.

In other words, the numbers more than back up the idea that the “elite” talent, as dubbed by scout Jacek Kulig, is someone who can help break up opposition attacks before kick-starting attacks for his own team.

Finally, while it might take some time for fans to see him at his best, this game against competitive but comparatively weaker opposition may be the best opportunity to get him more minutes.

Benfica's Orkun Kokcu against Chelsea's Romeo Lavia.

Therefore, even if Santos is fit and ready to go, Maresca would be wise to unleash Lavia against Benfica, as the Belgian could be the key in helping him get one over Mourinho.

Everton submitted deadline-busting offer to sign 24 y/o La Liga midfielder

Everton’s summer very nearly got even better as the deadline approached and they reportedly submitted an offer to sign a La Liga midfielder for David Moyes.

Every player that Everton signed this summer

In a new era with new owners in The Friedkin Group and the new Hill Dickinson Stadium, Everton were always likely to spend big in the summer transfer window. Their squad certainly needed the investment, too. The likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure departed as free agents and the Toffees were quickly forced into the market.

In previous years, those in Merseyside could be accused of investing poorly before lingering all too close to the Premier League’s relegation zone as a result. This time around, however, it looks as though they’ve got things spot on. The likes of Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have got off to excellent starts, whilst big-money striker Thierno Barry is beginning to find his feet under Moyes.

The Friedkin Group waited up until deadline day to finalise their summer spending, welcoming Merlin Rohl on loan from German club Freiburg to cap off what was a fantastic window of arrivals.

After becoming the latest to arrive, Rohl told the club’s official website: “I’m really excited and full of joy to sign for Everton. It’s a big club, with great history and great fans. It’s the right time for me to join Everton. It feels like a shifting point for the Club. The future looks really good and I’m excited to be part of it.”

ByJoe Nuttall Sep 4, 2025

In total, Everton managed to welcome nine fresh faces with those being Grealish, Barry, Dewsbury-Hall, Rohl, Dibling, Carlos Alcaraz, Adam Aznou, Mark Travers and Tom King.

That said, as impressive as that list is, nine very nearly became 10 as the deadline approached if recent reports are anything to go by.

Everton submitted late offer for Altimira

According to reports in Spain, as relayed by Sport Witness, Everton and TFG submitted a late offer to sign Sergi Altimira from Real Betis only for the Spanish club to hand them an instant rejection. The midfield star also had interest from Eintracht Frankfurt, but eventually stayed put in Spain as the transfer window slammed shut.

Everton’s late summer bid means that Altimira is now one to watch for January. If the Toffees return, then they will add to their spending and welcome another midfielder after Rohl.

When compared, it’s clear that Altimira would have offered Moyes a different kind of midfielder in the summer transfer window. The Spaniard outperformed Rohl in ball recoveries and progressive passes, but struggled when it came to carrying possession.

Altimira also featured more often than Rohl last season and would enter Everton’s side with more experience. There’s no denying that the midfielder ticks plenty of boxes and would have been an excellent deadline-day addition. If the Toffees get a second chance to secure his signature, they should grab hold of it.

Barcelona deny financial 'penalty' if they refuse to sign Marcus Rashford as sporting director Deco explains details of Man Utd loan transfer

Barcelona sporting director Deco has provided details regarding Marcus Rashford's season-long loan move from Manchester United, confirming that the reigning La Liga champions will not have to pay any penalty should they decide not to sign the Englishman permanently next summer. United have inserted a purchase option for the in-form Rashford but Barca appear set to wait until late in the season before making any decision.

  • Rashford: Barcelona's Plan C

Barcelona's fragile financial condition meant that they failed in their endeavours to sign prime left-wing targets Nico Williams and Luis Diaz, with the former staying put at Athletic Club and the latter moving to Bayern Munich. Ultimately, the reigning La Liga champions signed Rashford on a season-long loan from United, with an option to buy him for £26 million (€30m/$35m) next summer.

Rashford's great start away from United

The England international has made a terrific start in Catalunya, proving his importance to head coach Hansi Flick early on in the season. Rashford has featured in all eight games for Barca so far, which includes his rip-roaring brace against old foes Newcastle in the Champions League, as well as three assists in La Liga. The Catalans are keen on analysing Rashford's performances throughout the 2025-26 season before making a decision on his potential long-term future at the club.

  • Deco dives into financial details behind Rashford's move from Man Utd

Speaking to , Deco dispelled rumours that Barca would be required to pay a penalty should they opt not to sign Rashford permanently next summer.

"He's on a simple loan, there's no penalty, and if we want him, we have an option to buy," said Deco. "It's too early to talk about decisions for next season, but what matters is that we're happy with him. What we thought he could bring to us, he's bringing. He's a very high-level player; he exploded very early, then he had great seasons at United, then he had years of more complicated management with changes of coaches, and perhaps he struggled too because they demanded a lot of things from him there. But we're happy with him; that's the most important thing. These aren't decisions for now; now it's time to focus on the games to come. A decision will be made, but that's not being discussed right now."

He didn't provide much information regarding the details of the purchase option, though. "I don't know, [the purchase fee] is not that high but I don't have to say it either, there's a contract between the clubs but it has to be discussed," he added.

In-form Rashford in for a start against PSG?

Flick will have a huge selection headache on his head when picking his starting XI for Wednesday's blockbuster Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain. However, the Barca manager might bear Rashford's fiery form in mind and name him as a surprise inclusion in the XI.

Nuno, Ancelotti and more: Ranking the harshest Premier League sackings

With Nuno Espirito Santo being dismissed by Nottingham Forest just three games into the new campaign, Football FanCast have now taken a look at some of the harshest sackings in Premier League history.

5 Nuno Espirito Santo

Nuno’s future at The City Ground has looked uncertain for quite some time, with the 51-year-old choosing to publicly reveal that his relationship with Evangelos Marinakis has deteriorated since last season, which left the owner “baffled”.

Initially, it appeared as though the Portuguese coach was set to keep hold of his job in spite of the comments, but a 3-0 home defeat against West Ham United in his final match at The City Ground may well have sealed his fate.

The sacking seems incredibly harsh, given that Nuno was the man to lead Forest back to Europe for the first time in 30 years, making major strides last season by finishing in seventh place, after taking over a team that only narrowly avoided relegation the season prior.

However, the writing may well have been on the wall for the former Tricky Trees boss as soon as he spoke out about his relationship with Marinakis, and he has now lost his job, with the owner believed to be keen on Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner as a replacement.

4 Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea have a history of being a ‘sacking club’, which stems from the Roman Abramovich era, with the former owner known for being particularly cut-throat, although it was not the Russian who dismissed Thomas Tuchel.

BlueCo made the decision to part ways with Tuchel after a 1-0 defeat against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, much to the German’s disappointment, saying: “I am devastated that my time at Chelsea has come to an end.

“This is a club where I felt at home, both professionally and personally. Thank you so much to all the staff, the players and the supporters for making me feel very welcome from the start.”

The sacking felt incredibly harsh at the time, given that the 52-year-old had led the Blues to Champions League glory, while also winning the Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup, and the decision didn’t pan out how BlueCo would’ve been hoping.

Graham Potter lasted less than seven months in charge after replacing Tuchel in the dugout, with Chelsea going on to finish 12th in the Premier League table.

3 Ruud Gullit

Chelsea is a running theme on this list, with Ruud Gullit being dismissed back in February 1998, despite the west Londoners sitting second in the Premier League table at the time, having also been triumphant in the 1996 FA Cup final.

A variety of reasons have been given for Gullit’s dismissal, including the Dutchman’s alleged high wage demands, but he has since been revealed that he was at odds with the club’s hierarchy due to other issues.

Gullit said: “Later on I found out that there was a lot of money going around because all of a sudden the best players wanted to come to Chelsea and they were offering a lot of players that I didn’t want…I was a little bit in the way.

“You had people around you who took care of you and and then all of the sudden they backstabbed you. And that’s a horrible feeling.

“The worst thing of all was also my mum had breast cancer. So I had to go to Amsterdam all the time in order to support her. And then they said, ‘Yeah, but he’s never here because he’s always in Amsterdam’.”

After being sacked by Ken Bates, the now 63-year-old went on to manage Newcastle United, reaching the 1999 FA Cup final, while his replacement, Gianluca Vialli, won five trophies during his spell as Chelsea boss.

2 Carlo Ancelotti

Continuing the Chelsea theme is legendary manager Carlo Ancelotti, who was sacked by Abramovich in May 2011 after a second-place finish was deemed below the required standard by the former owner.

That is despite the fact Ancelotti enjoyed a great deal of success in his first season as manager, winning the Premier League title, alongside the FA Cup and Community Shield during the 2009-10 season.

In fairness, Abramovich’s model of regularly sacking managers certainly worked for the Blues over the years, but the Italian’s replacement, Andre Villas Boas, didn’t last long, being dismissed after just nine months in charge.

Eventually, things worked out for Chelsea, with Roberto Di Matteo leading them to a shock triumph in the 2012 Champions League final, but the decision to part ways with Ancelotti still remains baffling, having averaged over two points per match.

1 Claudio Ranieri

It will be difficult for anyone to ever top Leicester City’s achievement from the 2015-16 season, with the Foxes defying all the odds to win the Premier League title, having gone into the campaign as 5000/1 outsiders.

However, Claudio Ranieri’s side surpassed all expectations, winning the top division for the first time in the club’s at-the-time 132-year history, with the likes of Jamie Vardy, N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez cementing themselves as club legends.

Just nine months after one of the biggest upsets in football history, however, Ranieri was dismissed from his post, with the club statement reading: “His status as the most successful Leicester City manager of all time is without question,”

“However, domestic results in the current campaign have placed the club’s Premier League status under threat.”

Former Manchester United manager José Mourinho famously paid tribute to Ranieri in a subsequent press conference, wearing a ‘CR’ initialed polo shirt in a show of solidarity.

In fairness, things worked out in the long run, with Brendan Rodgers leading Leicester to FA Cup glory in 2021, but the decision remains hugely controversial, given the role Ranieri played in defying all the odds in the 2015-16 campaign.

All-time attendance record for a Test in Australia broken at the MCG

A new attendance record for a Test match in Australia has been set with more than 373,691 passing through the gates at the MCG across the five days of the fourth Test between Australia and India, surpassing the previous mark of 350,534 set in 1937.Cricket Australia [CA] confirmed early on Monday that 51,371 had already come in for the first session of the fifth day to break the record. That crowd had swelled to a final tally of 74,362 by late in the afternoon. The crowd tally meant that more people have attended the 2024 MCG Boxing Day Test than had seen a Sir Donald Bradman-led Australia play England in January 1937 at the same venue, which was played over six days. The crowds have been absolutely extraordinary for this Test match with daily tallies of 87,242, 85,147, 83,073, 43,867 and 74,362. A day five crowd exceeding day four is unheard of with the Melbourne Cricket Club, who run the MCG, underestimating the number on day five. They opened Yarra Park outside the ground for general public parking on day five, which is a rarity. But they only had one gate open and it caused a significant traffic choke point prior to play with a number of fans late to get into the ground. The record numbers follow the huge crowds India attracted at the MCG at the 2022 T20 World Cup when 90,293 saw India play Pakistan and 82,507 watched India play Zimbabwe.

Big upgrade on Yang: "Exciting" £5m star on the transfer agenda for Celtic

Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers has not been afraid to make it clear to the board that his squad needs fresh blood before the end of the summer transfer window.

The former Liverpool and Leicester boss is in the final year of his contract at Parkhead and has urged the club to back him with more recruits at the top end of the pitch.

Brendan Rodgers

Speaking about transfer plans recently, the Celtic manager claimed that they “need competition at the top end of the field” and said that it is “important” for the Hoops to get that before the end of the window.

The Scottish Premiership champions are set to be without Jota until next year, potentially, as he nurses an ACL injury, and sold Nicolas Kuhn to Como earlier this summer, which has left the squad very light in the wide areas.

At this moment in time, Rodgers only has three ‘natural’ senior wingers at his disposal in Hyun-jun Yang, Daizen Maeda, and 34-year-old veteran James Forrest.

It is, therefore, no surprise to hear that the manager wants the club to bring in attacking reinforcements, particularly as Yang has yet to prove that he can be a frontline option.

Why Celtic need to replace Yang

Kuhn’s departure earlier this summer opened the door for the South Korea international to start the opening game of the Premiership season against St Mirren earlier this month.

Yang

Unfortunately, the right-sided attacker did not win a duel, produce a shot on goal, or create a chance for any of his teammates in 59 minutes on the pitch, as per Sofascore, which shows that he was totally ineffective in and out of possession.

It was telling that Yang was then an unused substitute in the 2-0 win over Aberdeen last weekend, as Rodgers clearly felt that he did not offer enough in the win over St Mirren.

The 23-year-old forward’s initial struggles at the start of this campaign suggest that he may be best suited to going back to the role that he played last term, rather than being a frontline option as a regular starter.

As you can see in the table above, Yang provided a solid threat as a squad option for the Hoops in the 2024/25 campaign, producing seven goals and assists in just nine starts.

Celtic winger Hyun-jun Yang.

That is a role that suits his ability, as he can come off the bench to make an impact and start the odd game when needed, but he does not have the game-changing quality to be a regular starter as a ‘replacement’ for Kuhn on the right flank.

Celtic eyeing deal for Danish forward

According to the Daily Record, Celtic remain interested in a deal to sign Go Ahead Eagles attacker Jakob Breum before the end of the summer transfer window.

The report claims that the 21-year-old talent is on the ‘agenda’ for the Scottish giants, as they note that Rodgers is keen for more attacking talent to be added to the squad.

Transfer Focus

Mega money deals, controversial moves and big-name flops. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across Football FanCast.

It adds that the versatile Danish star, who can play out wide or through the middle as an attacking midfielder, is high up on the club’s wishlist of possible signings.

Earlier this month it was reported that Go Ahead Eagles are looking for a fee in the region of £5m for Breum, and that the Hoops have already had an approach turned down for him.

It is now down to the board to go back in with another attempt to sign the Dane, who was described as an “exciting” talent by Sport Republic video scout RDF Tactics, before the deadline at the start of September, because he could come in as a big upgrade on Yang.

Why Celtic should sign Jakob Breum

The Hoops should swoop to sign Breum because he has played 27 games as a right-sided winger in his career, as well as 60 matches on the left flank, as per Transfermarkt, which suggests that he can fill the current gaps in the squad in the wide areas.

Celtic need to sign at least one winger, given Yang’s struggles and the fact that Maeda is the only left winger in the team, and the Go Ahead Eagles star could be the ideal addition due to the versatility that he would bring.

Celtic winger Hyun-jun Yang.

Whilst Yang, 23, has never scored more than eight league goals in a season in his career, and no more than five in a European league, Breum plundered ten goals in the Dutch top-flight in the 2024/25 campaign.

The 21-year-old star, who is two years younger than the South Korean flanker, put in some fantastic performances in the Eredivisie for his side last term, and his displays in the Netherlands suggest that he could come in as a big upgrade on the right wing for Celtic.

As you can see in the table above, Breum was far more impressive with his work at the top end of the pitch at league level in the 2024/25 campaign in comparison to Yang.

These statistics suggest that he has the potential to offer more to the team as a scorer, a creator, and a dribbler in any of the positions across the front, whether that is on either flank or as an attacking midfielder.

If Breum is able to translate those performances and the output that he provided over to the Premiership, he would be a superior option for Rodgers to call upon in the final third.

This would also allow Yang to go back to the role that he played last season for Celtic, coming off the bench more often than not to make an impact as a rotation player.

1 ByDan Emery Aug 12, 2025

Therefore, the club’s interest in a potential deal to bring Breum to Parkhead before the end of the summer could make a lot of sense, both because of how it could improve the starting line-up and what it would do for Yang’s role.

Luke Littler names Rodri and Liverpool star the best players in the Premier League

Luke Littler has emerged as one of the best-known sportsman in the UK after turning the darting world upside down.

Making his World Championship debut in 2023, the teenager is already a Triple Crown winner, lifting both the World Championship and World Matchplay in 2025, on top of his Premier League triumph in 2024.

"No brainer" – Luke Littler names £135m signings he wants Man Utd to make

The darts World Champion wants to see more new faces at Old Trafford.

ByCharlie Smith Jul 31, 2025

With plenty of media duties for Littler to abide by on a regular basis, he is questioned on numerous topics, including football.

A huge Manchester United supporter, Littler was asked for his top five Premier League players recently and included some stars from rival sides Liverpool and Manchester City.

5 Eberechi Eze Arsenal

Arguably a surprise inclusion in the list despite a wonderful 2024/25 season with Crystal Palace is Eberechi Eze.

The England international helped the Eagles win the FA Cup with a victory over Manchester City, a team Littler won’t be fond of due to his Red Devils ties.

Eze’s fine form in the final third as an attacking midfielder saw him score eight goals and provide eight assists in the Premier League. Those incredible performances were enough to earn him a big-money move to boyhood club, Arsenal, during the summer.

4 Bruno Guimaraes Newcastle United

Another name in Littler’s list that may catch some off guard is Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazilian did help the Magpies qualify for the Champions League, defeating the Red Devils both home and away. Guimaraes scored in the 4-1 win for Newcastle over Ruben Amorim’s side at St James’ Park in April.

3 Bruno Fernandes Manchester United

Littler had to include Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes in his list, with the Portugal international having a standout season despite the overall struggles at Old Trafford.

Fernandes scored 19 goals and registered 19 assists in all competitions, helping United to the Europa League final, while also lifting the Nations League with Portugal.

2 Rodri Manchester City

Coming in at number two is Manchester City star midfielder Rodri, who missed large parts of the 2024/25 season through injury.

Littler highlighted the fact that the Spaniard is a Ballon d’Or winner, and his absence from Pep Guardiola’s side was huge, with City struggling without their main midfielder.

Ballon d'Or 2025 Final Rankings

Where did the 30 nominees finish?

ByCharlie Smith Sep 23, 2025 1 Mohamed Salah Liverpool

Despite Littler being a United fan, he had to name rival Mohamed Salah as his top Premier League star following his unbelievable season for Liverpool.

The Egyptian King broke records in 2024/25 as the Reds won the title, with Salah scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists in the top flight. The first name in Littler’s list, it’s hard to argue against him when it comes to the Liverpool star being the best in the Premier League.

Yorkshire begin search for Ottis Gibson successor as head coach

Ottis Gibson will leave Yorkshire when his contract expires at the end of this season, the club announced on Saturday.Gibson joined the club in early 2022 on a three-year contract after Andrew Gale, his predecessor, was sacked during the fall-out that followed Azeem Rafiq’s allegations of institutional racism at the club.Yorkshire paid tribute to Gibson’s “total professionalism” during “the most difficult period of Yorkshire’s history” in a statement. Results on the pitch have been a mixed bag but they are in the hunt for promotion this season, sitting third in Division Two of the County Championship with five matches still to play.”The club is in a strong position in the County Championship, contending for promotion to the first division, and all players and coaches remain firmly focused on that aim,” Yorkshire said. “Ottis goes with everybody’s best wishes and everyone at the club wishes him well in his future career.”Yorkshire said that they have started the process for recruiting a replacement and that Gibson’s successor would be confirmed “in due course”. Darren Lehmann and Chris Silverwood have both been linked with the role.Gibson said: “Despite the issues we have faced off the field, that inevitably spilt on to the playing side, I am pleased with the state of the squad, the development of our younger players and to be in contention to challenge for promotion. I’d like to thank all of my staff, players and the supporters that have been behind us in my time here and I wish Yorkshire all the very best going forward.”Colin Graves, Yorkshire’s chair, said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Ottis. The work that Ottis has done in really difficult circumstances has been impressive, and he’ll leave with his head held high, having helped build some solid foundations, which we are seeing with performances this season. Everyone at the club would like to wish him all the best for the future.”

Man Utd now extremely keen on £34m 'best player' in the Belgium Pro League

Already closing in on Bryan Mbeumo, Manchester United are now reportedly very keen to sign an upgrade on Casemiro in the form of a £35m midfield star this summer.

Man Utd submit fresh Mbeumo bid

It hasn’t been the easiest deal to negotiate and the winger is yet to sign on the dotted line, but Manchester United’s latest bid to sign Mbeumo could yet prove to be successful at long last. The Red Devils have reportedly offered Brentford over £60m to sign their talented star who looks destined to become the second summer arrival at Old Trafford sooner rather than later.

Mbeumo’s arrival would take United’s spending to over £160m for the summer despite missing out on European football and often watching on as INEOS implemented several money-saving plans.

Success on the pitch has been given the priority no matter what, however, and the pressure will now be on Ruben Amorim to get the best out of his side next season.

What’s more, it seems unlikely at this stage that it will just be Cunha and Mbeumo who arrive. The likes of Emiliano Martinez have threatened to steal the headlines in recent weeks as Aston Villa attempt to comply with PSR rules, as has Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike.

Both arrivals would again offer Amorim much-needed upgrades on Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund, who has been linked with a move to Inter Milan in recent weeks.

Before Martinez and Ekitike enter Old Trafford, though, United may turn their focus towards a talented defensive midfielder worth just £34m this summer.

Man Utd very keen to sign Jashari

According to HLN, as relayed by Get Belgian & Dutch Football News, Manchester United are now very keen to sign Ardon Jashari from Club Brugge and, unlike others, are not put off by his €40m (£34m) price tag.

The Red Devils would be signing a player who was just voted the best player in Belgium – winning the Player of the Season award in the Belgium Pro League – and one who would be an instant upgrade on the ageing Casemiro.

Dubbed “impressive” by U23 scout Antonio Mango, Jashari certainly isn’t short on suitors this summer but it’s a race that Manchester United could have the financial power to win once again.

If the 22-year-old was the follow Cunha and Mbeumo through the Old Trafford doors then Amorim would instantly have three very impressive signings to work with this summer.
