وقال بيجيريستين في تصريحات لشبكة “بي ان سبورتس” القطرية عقب القرعة: “كوبنهاجن فريق جيد، واجهناهم قبل موسمين ونعرف قوتهم، لكن الأمور تتغير من حين لآخر”.

وأضاف: “لقد قدموا مستوى جيدًا هذا الموسم، واللعب على ملعبهم سيكون صعبًا، وبشكل عام لا يوجد فريق سهل مواجهته في المراحل الإقصائية، سنحترم الخصم ونلعب بجدية”.

وأكمل: “نحن الآن في البطولة، ولا نفكر في الحفاظ على اللقب ونركز في كل مباراة على حدا، الأمر لن يكون سهلًا بالحفاظ على اللقب، لأن هناك العديد من الفرق الجيدة”.

مانشستر سيتي فاز بالبطولة في نسختها الأخيرة على حساب إنتر ميلان بهدف رودري، وهو اللقب الوحيد الذي حققه النادي الإنجليزي في تاريخ المنافسة.

Giles Clarke has marked the end of his reign as chairman of the ECB with an uncompromising attack on secret plans to set up a rebel T20 league that he insisted, if it came to pass, could severely damage the fabric of world cricket.Clarke, who as ICC’s finance and commercial chairman will now be at the forefront of attempts to thwart any plans by Essel Group, told in a farewell speech at Lord’s that has now been made public of how the simple invitation to a formal opening of a new pavilion on a village ground in Somerset had further strengthened his conviction that cricket could not be “traded as a purely commercial activity” and that revenue must benefit the widespread health of the game.The Essel Group was also the organisation that began the rebel ICL in 2007, a T20 league that preceded the IPL but ended in less than two years after its players were banned from mainstream cricket by the cricket boards of various countries under instruction from the BCCI and ICC.To add fuel to the fire, the Essel group owns Ten Sports, which holds TV rights from several ICC Full Members – rights that are now increasingly contentious.Clarke openly questioned their validity. “I cannot see, as ICC finance and commercial chairman, why anyone should benefit financially from TV rights ownership on one hand, and then expect to be allowed to attack the game financially on another,” he said.The ICC has responded to the perceived threat to the fabric of the game by setting up a committee comprising its three top officials – chairman N Srinivasan, Wally Edwards from Cricket Australia and Clarke – to present an urgent report.”I had the privilege of opening the new pavilion at Easton-in-Gordano cricket club last week, whose roof had been blown away by a storm and the interior destroyed,” Clarke told the ECB’s annual meeting last week.”This small village ground lies behind the local pub. The community, supported by other local clubs, had gathered together and successfully raised funds to rebuild it, which they had originally thought not possible. The ECB had contributed funds to help from our weather disaster fund. As a friendly match was being played in this timeless surrounding, I felt the following strongly.”The game will give a simple message to those who seek to establish rebel leagues. Without volunteers, there is no cricket developed anywhere. It is not something to be traded as a purely commercial activity.”It is ingrained in the hearts, minds and cultures of men and women across the globe and in our multicultural societies. Volunteers in cricket do not want to work for profit-seeking enterprises, and nor will we allow greed to take away from the game its values, and the funds which support its grass roots and its future.”Clarke’s “farewell” address – he has now moved sideways to become ECB president – was, as would be expected, an unapologetic assertion of the progress made during his decade as the most dominant figure in English cricket.He has attracted heavy criticism for his part in the shake-up of world cricket which saw the “Big Three” – India, Australia and England – take more control as well as a larger share of revenue but he used his speech to emphasise his commitment to nurturing the wider community of English cricket.The ECB was more financially stable and had stronger relationships at all levels of the game, he contended, including ethnic minority leagues, women’s cricket and the recreational game.”I especially remember the Pakistan v Australia neutral series in 2010, and some 23,000 fans, mainly Brummies of Pakistani ethnic origin, some of whom I met walking round the ground. They were revelling in watching their heroes, and all firmly told me ‘I am supporting Pakistan, but I want my son to play for England’.”For Moeen Ali’s father, that magical moment has come true. There will be many more to follow him. The ECB has established good relations with many ethnic minority leagues. It is, however, an issue for our own society. Ethnic minorities do not all want to belong to or participate in all our traditional competitions, and are sometimes happier in their own.”The ECB has begun to embrace these bodies, not in terms of telling them what to do, but rather saying we are here, this is what we can do for you. Is that of interest? Would you benefit? And, in many ways, that is what our society has to do. The Indian supporters who booed Moeen Ali need to feel they are wanted and part of our society. Cricket has recognised this. We have started a long innings, but one we need to play well for the growth of our game.”

Para evitar possíveis punições, o Flamengo, mais uma vez, reforçou o pedido à torcida para que não sejam utilizados foguetes ou qualquer tipo de artefato sonoro nas proximidades da concentração do Grêmio nesta terça e quarta-feira, dia do jogo pela semifinal da Copa Libertadores, no Maracanã. O pedido se estende aos torcedores dentro do estádio, antes, durante e depois do jogo.

O temor é por uma punição similar a qual foi sancionada ao River Plate, da Argentina, pela Conmebol. No primeiro jogo da semifinal da Libertadores, contra o Boca Jrs, os torcedores do River acenderam sinalizadores na entrada do time no Monumental de Nuñez. Por isso, o clube foi multado em 200 mil dólares e terá que jogar a próxima partida como mandante, em torneios organizados pela entidade, com portões fechados. Ainda cabe recurso ao River.

Flamengo e Grêmio se enfrentam nesta quarta, às 21h30, por um lugar na decisão da Copa Libertadores, que será disputada em 23 de novembro, em Santiago, no Chile. No jogo de ida, em Porto Alegre, empate em 1 a 1 na Arena.

A delegação do Grêmio, do técnico Renato Gaúcho, chegou ao Rio de Janeiro no último domingo, e está concentrada em um hotel na Zona Oeste da cidade. As atividades estão sendo realizadas no Centro de Treinamento do Fluminense.

Last year the pitches were too dull at Hove. Now they’re too fruity. The last two four-day games here have only needed three for a result. With 14 wickets falling on the first day this time, be prepared to add this one to the list.The surface was not quite the hell-raiser against Middlesex, or the blood-spiller that stung Warwickshire’s paws. But there was enough to be wary of going forward: the Cromwell Road End was a collection of plates while, by tea, Fidel Edwards’ footmarks had dug a crater that needed filling at the interval.He seemed to want to create imprints in the middle of the pitch with the ball, too – bumper happy throughout a day that suggested if the bowlers found consistency, the pitch would do the rest. That being said, his pursuit for the perfect bouncer contributed to some great entertainment.Perhaps the best indication of how this pitch will unfold – not literally of course, though you can’t be too sure at Hove nowadays – was Ed Joyce’s decision to ensure Sussex would not be batting last on it. And when Edwards dug them in, Luke Wells and Michael Yardy had a go.The opening pair went at more than five an over, swiping effectively around their heads, like rich-blooded tourists in mosquito country. Steaming in from the Sea End, Edwards was even allowed two men on the hook inside the first few overs. To the credit of Wells and Yardy, nothing came close to going to hand, as both committed to each of their shots and timed each swivel and roll of the wrists to make the most of the pace of both Edwards and the outfield. With Jackson Bird proving expensive from the Cromwell Road End, it fell to Gareth Berg to curtail the excitement.Judging a book by its cover just this once, it is not a role you would associate with Berg. His expansive range of tattoos and penchant for a night out in his younger days paint the picture of a character more at ease with introducing a little anarchy than control.Yet, while his fellow pacemen touched and exceeded four runs an over, he was steady at around three. He also attacked; a pre-lunch spell of eight overs accounting for the wickets of Wells lbw, Yardy caught at third slip by Will Smith and Ed Joyce caught by James Vince at second, while only conceding 24 runs. He would go on to take one more, Ollie Robinson, caught by Sean Ervine at first slip, to return figures of 4 for 67 – his best first-class return with the ball since a six-wicket haul against Glamorgan in September 2011.Above the haul, he and Hampshire will be buoyed that he bowled his 22 overs at a consistent pace and getting good lift off the pitch, with no sign of any discomfort. For an avid Batman fan – a tattoo of the caped crusader covers his left forearm – the Ageas Bowl may prove to be his Lazarus Pit.Post-lunch, Luke Wright and Chris Nash made use of some wayward bowling from Bird, and the odd miscalculation from Berg, to thump fifty runs inside the first six overs of the afternoon session. Their fifth-wicket stand reached three figures in 124 balls, with Wright’s hard-handed square game dovetailing nicely with Nash’s touch, to wrestle back the initiative. Wright brought up his half-century in 71 balls but Nash fell short on 48 – his highest score of the season so far.Having taken the score to 202 from 87 for 4, both fell in successive balls to trigger a collapse that led to Sussex’s first innings finishing on 251. First Nash, who had just seen Wright cart Vince into the pavilion balcony for six, was given the chance to do the same with a juicy long-hop. All he could find was Sean Terry on the square leg boundary. A ball later, Danny Briggs got one to spit off the pitch and take the glove of Wright, through to Ervine at first slip.Hampshire’s first innings followed a similar pattern with the loss of their four wickets triggered by an unfortunate run out of skipper Jimmy Adams who was backing up too far when Magoffin got fingertips on a Terry straight drive. Some smart working of his bowlers from Joyce saw Robinson take a wicket from each end, meaning Briggs was sent out as nightwatchman to see the day out.He will start again on the second day with Vince, who closed with his first half-century of the season. It was more of what we have come to expect from Vince; full value from drive balls and elegance through the gaps. His innings has featured nine fours so far and his team-mates would rather he cashed in rather than someone else having to start again tomorrow. Although even with a fifty under the belt that will not be easy. Especially on this pitch.

The BCCI ombudsman Justice AP Shah has ruled that there is no conflict of interest case that can be established against national selector Vikram Rathour and the board’s media manager Nishant Arora.Shah had responded to an application filed by freelance journalist Niraj Gunde who had alleged that Rathour, who holds a Britsh passport, was conflicted in his loyalty towards the BCCI. In Arora’s case, Gunde pointed out to Shah that Arora and his wife were involved in a commercial venture called Final Score that has on its clients list senior Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh, as well as the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Assocation, of which BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur is president.However, Shah dismissed allegations of conflict of interest in both cases. The ombudsman told Gunde there was no rule in Indian law or within the BCCI’s rules on conflict of interest that Rathour, by virtue of holding a British passport as well as an overseas citizen of India card, had breached. “The Ombudsman does not agree with the applicant’s (Gunde) contentions. There is no bar, in law or in the memorandum of association of the BCCI, to Rathour’s association with the BCCI as a selector, by virtue of his holding an OCI card,” Shah wrote in an email to Gunde.”The Ombudsman also does not accept the argument that conflict of interest is apparent in such a case. In sum, no rule pertaining to conflict of interest is attracted, nor is any case of conflict of interest demonstrated. The application is therefore disposed of.”According to Gunde, Arora had violated the conflict of interest rule pertaining to the BCCI employees, which states neither he nor his near relative can be associated in any commercial venture with a member association and also cannot represent a cricket player.However, Shah did not agree with that contention. An email sent to from the Ombudsman’s office stated that, “Mr Arora’s wife does not hold any directorial post at Final Score. It appears that all shares owned by Mr Arora, his wife and his mother, in Final Score, were liquidated on December 2015, before this application was made by the Ombudsman.”The applicant Mr Gunde was offered an opportunity to respond to Mr Arora’s reply but no further response was received. It is evident that Mr Arora’s claims are not contradicted. The application no longer stands, and is, therefore disposed of.”

Depois de mudar o posicionamento dos laterais, do meio-campista Pedrinho e de instaurar a marcação-pressão na saída de bola adversária, a comissão técnica interina do Corinthians espera fazer uma nova mudança no estilo de jogo da equipe: fazer com que os goleiros sejam mais participativos com os pés – algo que dificilmente acontece no time do Parque São Jorge.

No treino da última terça, na reapresentação do elenco após o empate, em 1 a 1, com o Palmeiras, o técnico Dyego Coelho deu atenção especial ao posicionamento dos defensores na saída de bola. Os goleiros Cássio – recuperado de dores no quadril após desfalcar o Timão por duas rodadas – Walter, Caíque França e Filipe foram muito exigidos. A ideia da comissão técnica é dar opções de jogo para os atletas de linha e evitar chutões.

Goleiro titular do Corinthians desde a temporada 2012, Cássio não é um especialista com a bola nos pés, muito pelo contrário. O ídolo do Timão se notabilizou pelas grandes defesas e pela frieza em momentos decisivos, não por ajudar os jogadores de linha na saída de bola.

Por isso, a comissão técnica interina dará atenção especial para este aspecto no jogo dos goleiros. Cássio, mais acostumado a ser acionado para se livrar da bola, dando um chutão para o ataque, deve adotar um novo estilo trabalhando mais com os laterais e com os zagueiros.

-Os treinos que o (Leandro) Idalino (preparador de goleiros) faz são fantásticos para todos os goleiros. Se for estimulado, qualquer goleiro consegue fazer – afirmou Coelho já indicando que os quatros goleiros do Timão devem ter trabalho extra até o fim desta temporada.
