According to Football Insider, Tottenham have entered the race to sign Max Aarons.

Spurs eye Aarons

The 21-year-old recently earned promotion back to the Premier League with Norwich City.

According to this report, the Canaries agreed with the right-back last summer that he could depart in one year’s time. Everton are also interested in Aarons, with Norwich looking for a fee of £30m to part ways with the youngster.

Worth it?

Aarons has been virtually an ever-present this season for Daniel Farke’s side, playing 44 matches in the Championship out of a possible 45 (Transfermarkt). During that time, he has managed two goals and four assists, while former England under-21 manager Aidy Boothroyd called him “outstanding” last October (The Pink Un).

However, Tottenham already have plenty of options at right-back. Serge Aurier has had his problems, but he has shown promise this season and illustrated his attacking threat with two assists against Sheffield United on Sunday. Matt Doherty, meanwhile, was only signed from Wolves last summer – even if he has failed to nail down a first team spot, he still deserves time to do so.

For £30m, Aarons’ signature would represent a significant outlay, and those funds could be put to better use elsewhere.

In other news, this Champions League winner is interested in managing Tottenham.

Dorival ainda voltou à formação “tradicional” com Lucas Veríssimo no lugar de Vitor Bueno. Após alguma dose de sofrimento e uma grande defesa de Vanderlei em cabeceio de Manoel, a expulsão de Arrascaeta trouxe a tranquilidade que faltava. Trouxe? Aquele mesmo Manoel, impedido, empatou tudo de cabeça aos 44. O sonho que já era distante virou missão praticamente impossível.

O Santos voltará a campo no próximo domingo, em confronto direto contra o Flamengo, às 17h, no Maracanã. No mesmo dia e horário, o Cruzeiro visita o Internacional, no Beira-Rio.

أكد مالك ورئيس نادي روما السابق، جيمس بالوتا، أن إدارته أجبرت على بيع ثنائي الفريق الأول لكرة القدم السابقين، محمد صلاح وأليسون بيكر، بسبب مشاكل مالية كانوا يعانون منها ردًا على اتهامات بعض الملاك السابقين بأنه قد قام بتدمير الفريق الإيطالي قبل الرحيل.

ورحل محمد صلاح إلى ليفربول مقابل 42 مليون يورو في صيف عام 2017 ولحقه أليسون في العام التالي بمقابل 62.5 مليون يورو.

وتحدث بالوتا عن الأمر في حواره مع إذاعة “SiriusXM” الأمريكية، وقال: “على مر السنين كان لدينا محمد صلاح، أليسون، ناينجولان، دجيكو، بيانيتش، ستروتمان، باريديس، إيمرسون بالميري، مانولاس، مهدي بنعطية وماركينيوس”.

وأضاف: “ولكننا أجبرنا على رحيل بعضهم مثل محمد صلاح وأليسون بسبب بعض المشاكل المالية وقتها، وقام ليفربول بدفع مبلغ مالي كبير من أجل الحارس وكان الأغلى في تاريخ النادي”.

وتابع: “لم يفز أي فريق باستثناء يوفنتوس بلقب الدوري الإيطالي من 2012 إلى 2020، لقد احتللنا المركز الثاني ثلاث مرات ووصلنا إلى نصف نهائي دوري أبطال أوروبا، ربما يكون الطريق الأفضل من أي منافس آخر ليوفنتوس”.

وواصل تصريحاته: “كان النادي الذي اشتريناه في 2011 مختلفًا تمامًا عن النادي الذي بعناه، لقد ورثنا ناديًا به ديون ضخمة وعائدات منخفضة، لقد كان مفلسًا، لا يهمني ما سيقوله الملاك السابقون”.

وأتم: “لقد تفاوضنا على الشراء مع (Unicredit)، وإذا كنت أتعامل مع أحد البنوك مثله فهذا يعني أن البنك يمتلك النادي بسبب المشاكل المالية”.

يستعد النادي الأهلي لمواجهة صن داونز الجنوب إفريقي، مساء اليوم السبت، في إطار منافسات دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

After a surprising defeat to Brighton last time out in the Premier League, Leeds United bounced back in style with a comprehensive 3-1 victory against Tottenham at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side looked at their supreme, energetic best and got their just rewards thanks to goals from Stuart Dallas, Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo.

While the trio will no doubt grab the headlines for their strikes, it was Gjanni Alioski who arguably stole the show and was the real hero for Bielsa.

Before the game, there were calls for him to be dropped from the starting line-up, including here on Football FanCast, but the left-back produced one of his finest displays of the season to help his team to victory.

Going forward, Alioski was a real livewire, constantly looking to get up in support of Jack Harrison in front of him and always providing him with an option. That’s exactly what happened for Bamford’s goal, with the defender going on the overlap before pulling it back for the striker to sweep home at the near post.

Perhaps just as impressively, the versatile ace looked as good as ever defensively, despite coming up against the likes of Gareth Bale, Heung-min Son and Harry Kane.

While he may have been slightly responsible for Son’s strike in not following the run, Alioski shut down Bale with ease, eventually forcing Ryan Mason to haul off the Wales international midway through the secondhalf.

As per Sofascore, he had the second-most touches of any Leeds player with 74, and was one of only two players along with Raphinha to create one official big chance. He also won five of his seven duels on the ground, while Bale lost possession nine times and could only muster 12 successful passes in the time that he was on the pitch, with Alioski just too quick to snuff him out.

The 29-year-old earned some reviews on Twitter, not least from former England left-back Graeme Le Saux, who said: “Alioski has been superb for @LUFC this afternoon. The willingness of the players to work for each other is commendable. The 3rd goal is a great example of all of them working hard to give the man on the ball an option. Great team goal.”

While the Leeds scorers, and Sky Sports’ man of the match Jack Harrison, will take a lot of the plaudits, it was Alioski who arguably emerged as Bielsa’s main man.

In other news, Leeds must avoid a potential transfer nightmare over this “dreadful” England international.

In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, Steve Howey, who made 157 appearances for Newcastle United, has urged the Magpies to appoint an English manager if Steve Bruce leaves this summer.

Bruce was on talkSPORT earlier this week and he claimed that his future is for other people to decide and not himself, as speculation grows whether or not he will remain in the dugout at St James’ Park next season.

This comes after reports earlier in the year that Mike Ashley would be offering Bruce a new contract at the end of the season if he managed to keep Newcastle in the Premier League, which he has managed to do.

Speaking on why he would like Newcastle to appoint another English manager after Bruce and how there are a lot of good managers in this country, Howey exclusively told FFC:

“I think we’ve got some very good managers in this country but for some reason we always want to go foreign, and there are some very good foreign managers don’t get me wrong, but it puzzles me.

“For some reason clubs always want to go foreign first, and that’s their prerogative, but I would always look at home first.”

Bruce appeared to be in danger of losing his job after Newcastle’s 3-0 defeat away to Brighton earlier this season with even some players thinking he was about to be sacked, but he stayed in the hot-seat and has turned the club away from relegation.

A name that has been linked with taking over from Bruce if he was to depart this summer is Gennaro Gattuso, who has recently managed AC Milan and is currently in charge at Napoli.
