Well, it would be fair to say that the Tottenham Hotspur fans do not want their club to move for Newcastle United attacker Ayoze Perez in this summer’s transfer window.

In a recent interview with Marca, Perez admitted that he will return to Spain before the end of his career, whilst he also discussed reported interest from the likes of Tottenham and Everton.

The 25-year-old was brilliant against Everton last weekend, scoring twice and providing an assist in Newcastle’s 3-2 win at St James’ Park.

In total, the forward has scored seven times and registered four assists in 33 appearances in all competitions for his English club this season.

The Tottenham fans have been discussing a potential move for the Spaniard and it would be fair to say that not too many are interested in chairman Daniel Levy signing Perez.

كشفت تقارير صحفية إنجليزية التكلفة المالية التي سيتعين على إدارة آرسنال تحملها بعد حسم صفقة اللاعب توماس بارتي من نادي أتلتيكو مدريد.

وأعلن آرسنال، مساء أمس، تعاقده مع توماس بارتي بعد دفع قيمة الشرط الجزائي في عقده مع أتلتيكو مدريد (50 مليون يورو).

وحسب صحيفة “ميرور” الإنجليزية، فإن صفقة بارتي ستكلف خزائن آرسنال ما يقرب من 110 ملايين جنيه إسترليني.

وأوضحت أن بارتي حصل على رسوم مالية جراء توقيعه مع آرسنال بقيمة 2.5 مليون جنيه إسترليني.

وأشارت إلى أن اللاعب الغاني سيحصل أيضًا على 260 ألف جنيه إسترليني أسبوعيًا في ملعب الإمارات، لمدة 4 سنوات مدة عقده.

It’s not hard to tell when Marcelo Bielsa’s not happy, is it? His interview on Sky Sports was cut short after he tried to ask the interviewer if he thought Leeds deserved to win. Indeed, it showed the pressure of being the Whites’ manager is finally getting to him.

We all know he’s quite the character and has the capabilities to fly off the handle every now and again, but his awkwardness in the interview only reflected badly on himself. Some may claim it as a victory over ‘the media’, but the interview was anything but that. It was almost a breakdown.

Leeds are used to falling apart at this stage of the season, and it seems like the pressure from the fans gets too much for the manager and the players. This campaign seemed different though, up until Saturday. The poor second half can happen, but the manager’s reaction signifies a bigger problem.

If he can’t hold it together in an interview, what’s he like in the dressing room and on the training pitch? Of course, Sir Alex Ferguson was famous for his prickly interviews but also his incredible success, so it could only be a post-match blip, but it’s worrying nonetheless.

The interview mirrored many of Jose Mourinho’s before his United sacking. Not that Bielsa will be sacked anytime soon, but it reeked of a man not in control and buried underneath pressure.

If the manager’s feeling it, the players will too.

They now sit third in the Championship, five points behind Norwich and one point behind Sheffield United, so the club are far from resigned to the play-offs. However, there’s worrying signs appearing and Leeds need to come back from the international break with a clear head if they’re going to secure automatic promotion.

It’s rare that a player in England has a release clause as part of their contract, but for Tottenham and Toby Alderweireld, it’s something that could cost them greatly.

Alderweireld heads into the final year of his Spurs contract with a £25 million release clause hanging over his head, and with the Belgian international being one of the best defenders in the Premier League, interest is going to be high for the 30-year-old.

Manchester United have been heavy favourites to snap up the former Southampton defender for some time, but with Tottenham likely to finish above the Red Devils this season and a new stadium to FINALLY move into, is Alderweireld’s future best suited to remaining and renewing with Spurs?

Mauricio Pochettino’s reputation as one of the best managers in football could be further solidified if the Argentine coach can nail down Alderweireld to a new deal before the start of the transfer window this summer, and if the Spurs boss is able to pull this off it will signal a new age for the new club.

Tottenham have never been a club to sign players who have aspirations to stay there for long and win silverware, this is something that just doesn’t happen at the club. But if Pochettino is able to tie Alderweireld down to a new two, three-year deal with no release clause, it will be a big sign of intent.

It will show to teams in the Premier League top six and the big teams around Europe that Spurs are a team that can keep hold of their players and make the club a desirable destination for those looking to make the step up in their careers.

Spurs agreeing a new deal with Alderweireld could cause a shift in power in the Premier League and improve the status of the north London club on the continent. Of course, it would come as some shock to supporters as they’ve been used to seeing some of their best players depart in the past.

But Spurs and the boss must act quickly. With the summer transfer window under three months away and teams likely to make signings before the start of the window, Alderweireld has a large target on his back for teams looking to make a solid defensive signing this off-season.

رغم انتقاله إلى مانشستر يونايتد خلال فترة الانتقالات الصيفية، لم يخف المهاجم الأوروجوياني إيدينسون كافاني رغبته في اللعب مع بوكا جونيورز الأرجنتيني.

كافاني انتهى عقده مع باريس سان جيرمان في يونيو الماضي، وانتقل إلى مانشستر يونايتد خلال اليوم الأخير من سوق الانتقالات، في صفقة انتقال حر.

وقال كافاني في تصريحات لشبكة “ESPN” العالمية: “بوكا جونيورز فريق عملاق في العالم، أي لاعب كرة قدم يحب اللعب هناك، كما أن هناك من اللاعبين الأوروجوانيين، الذين لعبوا هناك”.

وأكمل: “الاستمرار في تاريخ كرة القدم يثير فضولي، هناك بعض الأسرار من حديثي مع ريكيلمي نائب رئيس بوكا جونيورز، لقد أحببت بوكا جونيورز أكثر”.

وأشار: “سنرى ما يمكن أن يحدث في المستقبل، سيكون من الرائع أن تكون لاعبًا في بوكا جونيورز، لكن الآن لدي عامين في عقدي مع مانشستر يونايتد”.

واختتم صاحب الـ33 عامًا: “أريد أن أكون أفضل مما يكنني تقديمه، أتمنى ترك بصمة في مانشستر يونايتد، وسأرى ما إذا كنت سأستمر أو سأعود إلى أمريكا الجنوبية”.

أفادت تقارير صحفية، أنّ نادي برشلونة الإسباني، يدرس إمكانية التعاقد مع الدولي الفرنسي بول بوجبا لاعب وسط فريق مانشستر يونايتد الإنجليزي.

بوجبا لديه عقد مع مانشستر يونايتد ينتهي في نهاية الموسم الحالي في 30 يونيو 2021، ويحق له في بداية يناير القادم التفاوض مع أي نادٍ.

ولم تدخل إدارة اليونايتد في أي مفاوضات مع بوجبا، لتجديد عقده، بحسب ما أكده بول في تصريحات سابقة، أوضح من خلالها أنّ حلمه أيضًا للعب لـ ريال مدريد (طالع ماذا قال؟).

ورغم ارتباط بول بالذهاب إلى الملكي، لكن شبكة “سبورتس مول” البريطانية، نقلًا عن وسائل إعلام إسبانية، ذكرت أنّ برشلونة يدرس إمكانية التعاقد مع بوجبا.

وأوضحت الشبكة أنّ بوجبا من الممكن أنّ ينضم مجانًا إلى برشلونة، ويجعل النادي الكتالوني مُنفتحًا على إمكانية ضمه.

وقالت الشبكة أنّ انتقال بول من عدمه لـ برشلونة، سيكون في يد النجم الفرنسي، الذي لا يزال يحلم بارتداء قميص ريال مدريد.

If you were to tell a Leeds supporter at the end of last season that Mateusz Klich would play an integral role in a promotion push for the club, they would have scoffed at the idea.

After being signed for a reported fee of £1.5m by then-manager Thomas Christiansen (according to the Yorkshire Evening Post), the Polish midfielder was loaned out to Eredivisie side FC Utretcht in the 2018 January transfer window after suffering a disastrous first-half to his debut season in English football. A permanent exit from Elland Road was only prevented by the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa who took Klich under his wing.

Fast-forward to March 2019 and it seems almost unimaginable to think of a time where the 28-year-old wasn’t a mainstay in the club’s midfield. Klich has been outstanding for the Whites this season, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists in 38 league appearances, helping Bielsa’s side to force themselves into contention for a top-two finish in May.

Considering just how influential the midfielder is for Leeds, it is vital that they do everything to keep him at the club this summer, regardless of what division they find themselves in. Without the domineering presence of Klich in the side’s midfield, it could be argued that the Whites would not even be close to fighting for automatic promotion this year.

Therefore, Bielsa must avoid any temptation from elsewhere that may force the player’s head to be turned in the coming months. Indeed, promotion to the Premier League may convince Klich to stay with Leeds and continue the project of taking the club back to their heyday which saw them challenge for European Football at the start of the 20th century.

The one thing that is for certain is that in order to make their return to the top flight, the Whites must embark on a superb run in their last eight fixtures, especially when you consider that both Norwich City and Sheffield United will be looking to capitalise on any slip ups from Bielsa’s side.

“I love to play with [Deeney] because he gives a lot of energy to us, and the fans as well. He is a strong striker, and he has a lot of quality.

“Against him it is very hard to defend, because when he is in a good mood he can beat anyone. He can fight against everyone. He is very good this season and I am very happy to play with him.

“Troy is the perfect captain for this team. He can be very friendly with you or can be shouting at you if you do something wrong. But you can do it with him as well. He can accept it if you have a good reason and he’s a very good captain.”

Indeed, Deeney is unafraid to make his feelings known during a game, at the training ground or even in post-match interviews – to the astonishment of Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser – and this is why former Granada man Doucoure thinks he is the perfect candidate to both spearhead the Hornets attack and wear the armband.
