Tottenham Hotspur are set to be without an “excellent” player for the rest of the season due to another long-term injury, according to a report.

Injury crisis continues at N17

Prior to the 2-0 victory at Brentford, Tottenham had been on a very poor run of form, but their campaign has been badly affected by the sheer number of players ruled out with injuries.

Speaking about the injury crisis at N17, manager Ange Postecoglou said: “Every time I’ve seen the light at the end of the tunnel, it’s usually been an oncoming train.

“We’ve had to deal with a real extreme situation, which unfortunately once we got hit with what we got hit with, it is then very hard to rectify on the run.

“We obviously got some significant injuries early on, which hampered our progress, and then we had to rely on a small group of players to get us through and that then burdened them.”

The likes of Dominic Solanke, Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie have been unavailable in recent weeks, and another player has now joined the ever-growing list of absentees.

According to a report from The Athletic, Radu Dragusin is set to miss the remainder of the season with an ACL injury, which he sustained in the victory against Elfsborg in last week’s Europa League tie.

The £85k-per-week defender is set to undergo an operation, which will rule him out for a considerable period of time, with Spurs hoping he will recover for the beginning of the 2025-26 season.

No respite for Postecoglou on the injury front

Tottenham have been forced to endure an injury crisis this season, which has undoubtedly played a big part in their struggles, currently sitting in just 14th place in the Premier League.

However, Jamie Carragher has little sympathy for Ange, given that the manager experienced similar problems during his time at Celtic, while the Sky Sports pundit also claming the Spurs boss rushed Micky van de Ven back from injury too quickly.

“It almost feels like this whole team is built on the centre-backs, especially with van de Ven at the back. But to bring them back so quickly in that game against Chelsea, the two of them went off injured, that has to be down to the manager or the medical staff.

“It’s not just unlucky with injuries. That goes down to how you train and how your team play. It’s a bit of luck now and again. It’s not a real mitigating factor if you know you are going to get injured with the way a manager plays and he has a history of getting those injuries.”

It is logical to assume Ange’s style of play may be the root cause of some of Tottenham’s issues, given his high-pressing style, which is why it was vital to bring in extra reinforcements before deadline day.

With the “excellent” Dragusin now sidelined, the Australian will be hoping new signing Kevin Danso will step up to the plate in defence and help his side get their season back on track.

وقال بوستيكوجلو في تصريحات لشبكة “TNT Sports: “ما زلت أستوعب ما حدث، أعلم تمامًا ما يعنيه هذا الإنجاز لهذا النادي، كلما طال الانتظار، أصبح كسر هذه الحلقة أكثر صعوبة”.

وأضاف: “كنت أشعر بتوتر الجميع داخل النادي، وحتى تتخلص من هذا العبء، لا يمكنك أن تدرك تمامًا ما الذي يعنيه الفوز، لدينا مجموعة شابة من اللاعبين، وآمل أن يمنحهم هذا التتويج إحساسًا مختلفًا تجاه أنفسهم، ما يعنيه هذا اللقب لهم أمر لا يُصدق”.

وتابع المدرب الأسترالي: “كنت دائمًا أرى أن بطولات الكؤوس تختلف عن منافسات الدوري، فعندما تدخل هذا النوع من المباريات، يصبح التنظيم الجيد، ووجود خطة واضحة، واللحظات الحاسمة عوامل حاسمة، يمكنك تقليص عدد هذه اللحظات إذا كان لديك أساس دفاعي قوي”.

وأفاد: “أعلم أن مستوانا في الدوري كان غير مقبول، لكن تحقيق المركز الثالث لم يكن سيُغيّر شيئًا في هذا النادي، أما الفوز بلقب، فذلك ما كان سيحدث فرقًا، وكان هذا طموحي، وكنت مستعدًا لتحمّل العواقب إذا لم يحدث”.

وواصل حديثه قائلاً: “الناس كانوا يذكرونني دائمًا بذلك التصريح مع اقترابنا من النهائي، وأنا سعيد بذلك الآن”.

وأكمل بوستيكوجلو تصريحاته، مؤكدًا أن هذا التتويج يمكن أن يُحدث نقلة في عقلية النادي: “الأمر يتعلّق بكيف يرى النادي نفسه، خلال السنوات الماضية، كان من السهل أن يتعرض النادي للهجوم، ولم يكن يدافع عن نفسه بالقدر الكافي أحيانًا”.

واسترسل: “لا يوجد ما يمنع توتنهام من دخول الموسم القادم بطموح الفوز مجددًا، الأندية الكبرى تتوقع النجاح، وآمل أن يُغيّر هذا التتويج نظرة النادي لمستقبله”.

وعن مستقبله الشخصي مع الفريق، استطرد: “كنت أركز تمامًا على الفوز بهذه البطولة، ما سيحدث بعد ذلك فليحدث، نحن ما زلنا في طور بناء هذا الفريق، إنه فريق شاب ويحتاج لاكتساب الخبرة، والآن نحن في دوري الأبطال، أحاول بناء فريق قادر على المنافسة خلال الأربع أو خمس سنوات المقبلة”.

واستمر قائلًا: “أنا مدرب هذا النادي، لكن القرار لا يعود لي في النهاية، كل ما أعلمه هو أن وجود هذه الميدالية حول عنقي يعني أننا حققنا بطولة، لا أشعر أنني أنهيت المهمة بعد، نحن لا نزال في مرحلة البناء، منذ اليوم الأول لي هنا، كان لديّ إيمان بإمكانية التتويج، وقد تحقق ذلك، وأريد البناء عليه”.

وعن تتويج سون بلقبه الأول مع توتنهام، علّق: “لدينا لاعبون رائعون، هاري كين مثال على ذلك، لم يحظَوا بلحظة كهذه هنا، كنت أتمنى يومًا كهذا لسون، ولسببٍ أو لآخر لم يحدث ذلك من قبل”.

وأشار: خارج غرفة الملابس (في ملعب توتنهام)، تُعرض صورٌ لفرقٍ فائزة، وقلتُ لسون علينا أن نجعلك تتألق”.

واختتم حديثه: “أعتقد أن هناك فرصةً سانحةً هنا، هذا هو إيماني، ويمكننا البناء عليها، هؤلاء اللاعبون يريدونها مجددًا، إلى أن يشعروا بها ويفوزوا بشيءٍ ما، لا يمكن وصفه للناس، والآن وقد حصلوا عليها، سيرغبون في استعادة هذا الشعور مرةً أخرى”.

– O jogo vai ser diferente. Agora temos que manter os níveis de concentração e confiança. Concentração quando se a confiança temos a probabilidade de fazer um bom jogo. Lancei a eles (jogadores) no intervalo que normal, normalmente a crítica diz que só conseguimos jogar 45 minutos com qualidade, então disse que o desafio era manter o ritmo, qualidade, concentração, não permitir gols e estar em busca de mais gols. Precisamos de um jogo de
confiança, concentrado, um jogo bom emocionalmente para manter o equilíbrio e o controle tático – disse Vítor na entrevista coletiva após a partida.

Mas os clássicos são fundamentalmente importantes, principalmente para a torcida, jogadores também. Para eu preparar um clássico preciso de tempo de trabalho. Chegamos nesse jogo em outro patamar em termos de cultura tática entre os jovens e velhos na ligação entre eles. Vamos ter outro clássico complicados, jogos não soa iguais, vamos precisar ser humildes, ver o que fizemos bem, corrigir e preparar o próximo jogo – afirmou o técnico corintiano.

Vítor Pereira também exaltou a festa feita pela torcida corintiana nas arquibancadas das Neo Química Arena, desde a entrada dos jogadores em campo, com um show de fogos e luzes no estádio corintiano.

– Quando penso que já vi tudo eles (torcedores) já conseguem subir o nível. E precisamos ir atrás deles e subir o nível também. O nível das arquibancadas foi fantástico, logo com o ambiente que se criou no início do jogo. Se seguimos a qualidade deles, jogaremos a grande nível, vamos conseguir mais resultados destes. É uma questão de ir atrás deles. Não é fácil para os adversários jogar aqui, e é com isso que temos que jogar. Precisamos de qualidade e com o 12º jogador que é a nossa torcida – destacou VP.

O Corinthians voltará a jogar na Arena, em Itaquera, neste fim de semana, novamente contra o Santos. No sábado (22) as equipes se enfrentarão pela 13ª rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro, e fazem o jogo de volta da Copa do Brasil em três semanas, no dia 13 de julho, na Vila Belmiro.

O que levou o Corinthians transformar um clássico em um jogo tão penso para um lado?

Fizemos um jogo de qualidade, consistente, defensivamente consistente e ofensivamente com qualdiade. Encontramos espaços, combinações bonitas, dinâmicas, jogo bem conseguido contra um adversário difícil, com muitos jogadres de qualidade e bem trabalhados pelo Bustos. Adson: jogador técnico, mas quando uma equipe está perdendo ou ganhando e depois vem em inferioridade numérica, tem um momento que o Adson é técnico, começa a passar o pé em cima da bola. Eu entendi que aquele momento ele deveria ter jogado mais simples. Gosto de respeitar os adversários. Ele disse que não foi falta de respeito, mas é o que ele sentiu que deveria fazer naquele momento.

Posicionamento do Willian

Depois que perdemos o Jô, perdemos uma referência posicional no ataque e fomos em busca de um jogo de maior mobilidade na frente. O que eu quero dos três jogadores da frente é dar liberdade, mas com responsabilidade nos momentos de perda de bola. Em função do corredor, tem que cumprir a função, independentemente das trocas. Tem que ser uma liberdade com organização. Liberamos um pouco, porque assim conseguem fugir mais das marcações. Por dentro é mais difícil em uma marcação homem a gomem ou mais apertada, e ele precisam sair da marcação, as vezes por dentro, outras por fora, e no momento da perda de bola, onde tiverem a função que tem que fazer.

Aspectos táticos

Analise que fizemos ao Santos, a primeira coisa que eu faço é ver os resultados do adversário, se sofre gols, que tem resultados desnivelado, e eu nunca vi o Santos perder por dois gols de diferença. Uma equipe que tem uma estatística dessa não é fácil criar muitas situações de gols. Mas hoje conseguimos encontrar, estamos a evoluir em termos de dinâmicas, variar a inversão de jogo, são coisas que vão criando, estimulando, apesar do tempo de trabalho não ser o que queria que fosse, mas acho que a equipe está evoluindo.

Mudança na forma de jogar após a saída de Jô

A forma de jogar tem sempre a ver com as ideias do treinador, o que ele estimula, mas também com as características dos jogadores que temos. O que eu pedi no jogo anterior é que cruzamos muitas vezes e não tinha ninguém, o que eu pedi foi que se não tivemos homens muito altos, temos que jogar de outra forma. Mas tem que chegar, se quer fazer gol, tem que chegar. Foi essencialmente essa a mensagem do último jogo, não podemos chegar muito a linha de fundo e quando a bola chega não tem ninguém. Precisamos de dinâmicas de trás para frente, aparecer de surpresa, mas temos que aparecer. Não é estralar os dedos, o Jô foi embora e já passa a funcionar. Teve o processo de convencer o Róger, que é uma peça importante, que a dinâmica dele é determinada e dar liberdade aos poucos, dar mais responsabilidades aos meias aparecerem na área. Hoje até nesse pormenor subimos o nível.

Robert Renan

Robert entra no jogo e logo no início coloca um passe interior, que são os mais difíceis de entrar, que é algo muito da juventude, quem tem um nível técnico inferior tenta o passe lateral, mas ele, não digo com falta de responsabilidade, tenta o passe interior mesmo estando apertado. Isso fala da confiança e da qualidade dele. Tem que crescer, mas tem potencial. Temos vários jogadores jovens que vão voar para outros voos. Ele, para mim, vai ser uma referência. É rápido, é técnico, tem personalidade. Sobre o Robson, eu senti ele um pouco instável emocionalmente no outro jogo que ele entrou, compreende-se porque precisa ganhar a confiança das pessoas, dele próprio, e isso leva tempo.

Jogo de sábado, novamente contra o Santos

Renato problema em consequência do gramado artificial do Athletico-PR. Willian também veio com muitas queixas e por isso ficou fora do jogo anterior, tive até a última hora pra saber se contaria com ele, ou não. O Júnior (Moraes) esteve a recuperar do problema que tem e ainda está a estudar. E o Rafael (Ramos) não teve férias, fez uma liga inteira em Portugal, chegou e começou a jogar, está com um acumulo de jogos grande, está incomodado com os adutores e temos que tomar cuidado com ele. Foi por gestão para evitar lesão que deixamos de fora do jogo de hoje.
