The Gunners are thought to be admirers of Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz, but his importance to Unai Emery makes this deal a potentially tricky deal to do, and especially if Villa end up qualifying for the Champions League.

Previous reports have claimed that Arsenal will push to sign Luiz this summer, but failing that, they will have other targets on their agenda. In any case, midfield is thought to be a priority area for the title chasers – alongside the addition of a new striker.

"There is a release clause of €66m (£60m), that is the value of the release clause. From what I’m hearing, Mikel Arteta is still a big fan of Zubimendi, he believes that Zubimendi is a very talented midfielder and could be perfect for any club in the world."

The Spaniard has been a mainstay in the Sociedad midfield, making 29 La Liga appearances this season, scoring four goals and an assist.

Newcastle United want to complete the signing of a "special" English player this summer, aiming to bring him in as one of two free agents alongside Lloyd Kelly.

The Magpies have found themselves looking depleted in defence at times this season, with injuries acting as a big problem throughout the campaign. Sven Botman has arguably been the most high-profile absentee, and won't play again in 2023/24, but the likes of Kieran Trippier, Harvey Barnes, Joelinton and Joe Willock have all missed long periods, among others.

One player who has been linked with a move to Newcastle in the summer transfer window is Kelly, with Eddie Howe knowing him well, having worked with him at Bournemouth. The 25-year-old is out of contract with the Cherries at the end of the season, meaning he would be available on a free transfer. He can play at left-back or centre-back, which would reinforce two of the most injury-hit areas this season.

Kelly may not be the only Premier League player being targeted by the Magpies in the coming months, with Nottingham Forest star man Morgan Gibbs-White also reportedly wanted. The Englishman could be keen on a new challenge at a club chasing European football, and he could be an excellent signing. A natural left-back wouldn't go amiss either, and Wolves ace Rayan Ait-Nouri has been backed to come in and provide competition in that area.

Newcastle also chasing "special" Premier League player

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle are keen on signing Fulham centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo in the summer, seeing him as an additional signing on top of Kelly, rather than an alternative. The Magpies are interested in snapping up both soon to be free agents, immediately bolstering their defensive options in the process.

With Trippier, Burn and Fabian Schar all now in their 30s, there is a clear need to bring in younger players, so signing both Adarabioyo and Kelly this summer makes complete sense, heralding the start of a new era in Newcastle's back-line.

Adarabioyo is enjoying an impressive season for Fulham, averaging 3.9 clearances and 2.9 aerial duel wins per game in the Premier League this season, while manager Marco Silva has heaped praise on him in the recent past, saying: "We missed him a lot, we missed him because he didn’t play the first three months of the season. Tosin is a special player for us, I can’t hide that situation.

"The way he can defend the box but also on the ball he is a special player for me, the way I want to play, the way he can build (from the back). For three months we missed him but he has just played the last four or five games and he is getting better and better."

وتظهر الكثير من التكهنات حول مستقبل صاحب الـ32 عامًا في الفترة الأخيرة، ما بين إمكانية استمراره مع ليفربول عن طريق تجديد عقده، أو الرحيل نحو نادِ آخر.

وشددت: “لو كان الأمر يتعلق بالمال، لكان محمد صلاح قد رحل منذ فترة طويلة، ففي حين أنه اللاعب الأعلى أجرًا في تاريخ النادي، كان بإمكان الفرق الأخرى تحسين راتبه، وخشي البعض أن يكون العقد الجديد في عام 2022 محفوفًا بالمخاطر، لكن في الموسمين الكاملين منذ ذلك الحين، سجل 37 هدفًا في الدوري الإنجليزي وساهم بـ 22 تمريرة حاسمة، لا يبدو أنه يتباطأ، لا يزال مُنتجًا كما كان دائمًا”.

Romano makes claim on Summerville's Leeds future

Now, Leeds could be set for a Raphinha repeat as several clubs circle around impressive winger Crysencio Summerville ahead of a potential move away from the club this summer.

The 22-year-old winger, valued at £45m at Elland Road, has been a key part of Leeds' promotion run this season, racking up 17 goals and grabbing eight assists in 40 Championship outings to help them to third in the table.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with the Dutchman scooping the Championship Player of the Year award and being strongly linked with a move to Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea this summer among other clubs.

Any sale may have to be close to a record fee for Leeds, which currently sits at the £50m that they received from Barcelona for Raphinha in the summer of 2022.

Now, transfer guru Romano has provided the latest on the situation, speaking to GiveMeSport. The journalist was not optimistic for the Championship side, revealing that he felt Leeds may be fighting a losing battle given the ability Summerville has shown at Elland Road this season, though he feels sure Leeds and the 49ers Enterprises will do their best to keep him.

Should Leeds fail to secure promotion, it feels certain that the Dutchman would leave the Elland Road outfit, though he may opt to stay for another season of first-team football if they were to find themselves in the top flight once more.
